This is a question I get to hear often.
People of ages between 16 and 60 have come to me to assist them to find some
sort of direction for their careers. Now I am not a career guidance counselor
and I do not do any sort of psychometric tests to establish your best suited
job. What I can do for people is ask some very simple questions that will often
reveal the answers you are looking for.
Let’s break it down a bit. If you knew how
you were made and what you were equipped for this will give us a clue as to
your natural talents. We combined this with your skills that you have learnt
through education and experience. We toss these into the pot with what you
inner passions are (the things you do that make you feel good and energized)
and we begin to stir. Finally we add any rewards you have been given both
material and verbal. This gives us an indication of what others see in you. For
final flavoring we add any lessons learnt from failures and mistakes you have
made. Place in a baking tray and simmer for 10 minutes.
This will produce an outstanding synopsis
of your life as it is not based on your past – these we call your Strengths.
We add to this a few other steps and
finally we gain a clear understanding of a niche product of service that we can
turn into a business offering to the market.
Simple recipe for your entrepreneurial
future. Let me know of any other versions or formulas. We would love to add
them to our entrepreneur cook book.
