The Teen Entrepreneur Spring Academy kicked
off today in Cape Town. A group of enthusiastic teenagers gathered at the Belmont
conference centre in Rondebosch to start a 5 day journey towards learning what
it takes to develop a sustainable business.
We were treated to a series of talks by
Samantha Obery and Peter Greenwall and myself. The teens walked away a little
shell shocked today after getting to grips with what it takes to be an
entrepreneur, generating ideas through innovation and then getting to a point
of Feasibility. Tomorrow continues with Business plan development with myself
and Marketing with Marcel Audejans before they are split into teams to start
working on their businesses.
Friday will be the big day when each team
gets to present their plans to the panel for comment and judging. It is such a privilege
to work with enthusiastic teens wanting to spend their holidays learning for
their futures and not just at home on the couch in front of the tv. Guess which
group gets to have a say in their future?
