A few years ago the business community was abuzz
with the new Promotion to Access Information Act (PAIA). All businesses small
and large had to comply with this act and submit a manual to some government
department in Pretoria to remain legal and compliant.
Carrie-Anne from Cents and Accountability has
reminded us again of this and if you own or run a small business in South
Africa and have not yet written up and submitted your PAIA manual, please get
it done. It is a once off process and should not take you long to get this
sorted out.
I actually doubt that any of the 1000’s of
envelopes received have ever been opened and filed but it is one of those necessary
thing we need to do in order to do business in our country.
