Amanda Foster wrote this article about Joshua Bell on her blog yesterday to highlight the lack of attention people pay to beauty in our every day hurry of life. (Take time to read it so the rest of this makes sense.) Too true, but I want to look at it from an Entrepreneurial perspective as well.

Here we have the world’s best violinist playing music on a $3.5 million violin in a subway and he gets no attention. How many of us are good, no great, at what we do but no one seems to pay attention. Are we just playing our game in the wrong place at the wrong time? What if we could get on stage at the Boston theatre and ‘play’ to a sold out audience. All it takes is a little Marketing, PR and Perception.

We come across many brilliant practitioners who just need a break to make it in business and all they need is a simple push up the stairs from the subway to the street and then to a stage, where their talents can be appreciated. Lesson to be learnt: a little PR and marketing can turn a lonely entrepreneur into a brilliant artist.

We have recently joined up with Dominique Van Onselen from Influence to do some projects and to assist each other achieving our business goals. Dominique is a specialist PR and marketing company that focuses on Entrepreneurs and the emerging markets. You can contact Dominique here for more info on getting your brand in the spot light.
