It is Friday the 13th and
tradition, superstition and old wives tales tells me to stay in bed. But if I
listened to all that and my own body, I would never get anything done. How
often do we allow others to run our lives and make decisions for us. I value
others opinions and will often ask for a different view point but the buck
stops with me and I need to make the final decision.
We take new Entrepreneurs through the
process of creating a brand for their new business; this includes a new logo,
website, business cards etc. All this is a huge emotional journey; I liken it
to having another baby. Just choosing a name for a business can take ages in
SA, with all our regulations and issues at CIPRO. If we then begin to listen to
the crit of everyone we know, nothing will ever get done. We need to move
forward with our gut and put our own ambition drive ahead of the views of
others. Yes, ask and listen but take their opinion in context and keep focused
on the goal.
So Friday the 13th, superstition
aside, here we come. Off to TEDx this evening to listen to some world changers
for inspiration.
