Building Confidence in your business
If there is one thing that stands between failure and
success as an entrepreneur, it is confidence. There is very little a confident
person will not attempt. This week (week
4) on Exploit Yourself, the online reality show for
entrepreneurs, we explore this confidence. So what is confidence and how do we
achieve it?
Confidence, I believe comes from 3 things;
Self Belief: The
ability to look oneself in the mirror and know from deep within that whatever
you will face today, you will have the ... Continue reading ...
Get Credit for Paying It Forward

How often are we rewarded for doing what we
do for a living? I am not talking about getting paid, but just acknowledged for
doing a good job. If you are a waitress, you rely on tips to supplement your
income, but even these are not really connected to your ability, just an
economic trend or habit. When last did you receive genuine praise for just
being you?
Amanda
Foster from Coaching Connection
has come up with a unique way to say thanks to those who have helped get her to
where she is. Her... Continue reading ...
Exploit Yourself Week 3 - Wellness
Wellness is more than just a state of mind or attitude; it is a relationship with all 4 parts of yourself, Mind, Body, Heart and Soul. Only when you are investing into all 4 in a positive way and they become functional at an optimal rate can you claim the wellness badge for yourself. Wellness is also how well and healthy your relationships are with others that you interact with on a daily basis. This week we will take our contestants through a cycle of evaluations, assessments and introspecti... Continue reading ...

We welcome Lisa Balz to the Entrepreneur
Incubator this month. Lisa is a space Architect. Now before you think she is
busy designing houses on the space station of Richard Branson, let me explain
what she really does.
You know when you buy or rent a shop, restaurant
or office, everyone talks in square meters. You rent and pay by the number of
required square meters. Then you fill up the floor space with as much stuff as
you can fit into your budget and allocated space and hope it all works ... Continue reading ...
Exploit Yourself: Week 2
This week on Exploit Yourself the workshop was
designed to shake a few cages and rattle some foundations. To my surprise it
was found that very few of our contestants had any foundations to rattle. I am
constantly amazed at how many small businesses operate without any solid plans
for the future and without and founding statement or written vision. This
“Accidental Entrepreneurship” state of being is fine while you are still small,
but if your business is destined to grow into something s... Continue reading ...
Sure Swipe offers innovative convenience
We are always on the lookout for innovative
ideas that make the life of small business more convenient and promote growth.
We get to see many different concepts and dreams but very few of them seem to
actually work in the real world and add value to the customers.
Last week I heard an advert for Sure Swipe
on the radio and gave them a call. Today Robin Petersen dropped by the office
to explain what Sure Swipe offers and how they operate.
It is great to find a company that has
their focus so... Continue reading ...

Colin Hall, one of my mentors and a man who
has journeyed many a road, has begun work on his second book. In true Colin
style, he is doing it differently to what anyone else would do. He is writing
it in a series of letters and publishing them online for us to read chapter by
chapter.
Titled: Fully alive: Letters of
encouragement for those who, like us, seek to master our personal energy and
live fully …. day after day! You may think that this book sounds like some new
self help book you m... Continue reading ...

Finding the balance between self and business
As an entrepreneur we are often faced with
the issues of balance. How much time to spend at work, with family or doing
exercise. This dilemma that we have to deal with each day is easily solved with
a strict schedule that is adhered to by everyone involved.
Let me explain. We need to have 3 focal
points when it comes to time management. Working In, On and Out of our
business. That means that we have set times that we roll up our sleeves and
work In the business, this is when we generate the ... Continue reading ...
